Transportation: you can go almost everywhere on town buses at the minimum cost of €0,80 per itinerary. There are always taxis to take you everywhere, but I recommend that you asked for the price before you got in. You can rent a small car like Peugeot 206 at approx. €45 per day including car rental, insurance, taxes, free mileage, local maps and roadbooks. You can also rent a bike at an even lower rate per day.
Regarding food... it depends on what you what to eat. If you can suffice on fast food, you can have a good hamburger, a soda and french fries at approx. 3€. Portions in tavernas and restaurants are about 3€ (for the appetizers) and go up to 6-7€ for dishes with meat, which is more expensive than vegetables (4-5€). You can drink good beer at €3/per bottle or you can buy drinks at local super markets that would cost you approx. 0,80€ per 0,75l can.
I see you are not asking for accommodation rates, but at this time of the year you can find good rooms at 6€ per night, taxes included.
So what do you think? Will be coming over?
