hi i have done research to this answer as it interested me and in fact no we dont yawn wen we are asleep as we yawn to get more oxygen and to certify my answer i videod me sleeping 3 nites and not 1ce did i yawn hope i helped xoxoxox

I think there may be a possiblity. One reason why people yawn is when there is a shortage of air in the lungs so you yawn to catch your breath, and since you do breathe in your sleep (duh), you MAY yawn also.
