How do I organize a good Soccer party?

My guest of honor is Gigi Buffon!
How do I decorate?
What do I serve?
What music do I play...etc????
Everyone is invited..who would you bring?
All ideas are welcome....

Decorations - colour scheme would be green,white and red.Everything would be placed in groups of four e.g four balloons,four places at a table,bunches of four flowers etc.I think you get my meaning.
Food - Everything Italian,nothing French unless you want to serve French Champagne,I believe that's what people serve when they have something to celebrate.
Music - Queen,We are the Champions, Seven Nation Army and since your guest of honour is Buffon,how about You Rock My World by Micheal Jackson?

I'd probably bring my nephew.

Well since your guest of honour is Gigi I would make polenta and toccio since he's Furlan I'm sure he likes that stuff. Maybe some antipasto would be good. I personally love furlan cheese and marinated artichokes, eggplant and red pepper. I would keep decorations simple (remember less is more) maybe a bouquet of fresh flowers as the centre piece and use crisp linen (table cloth and napkins). Make sure you have plenty of wine handy, both red and white-don't know what he likes and maybe un apperitivo too. Have some fresh fruit for after as well as gelato and pizzelle for dessert. I would have jazz music on in the background played softly. Since I would be your guest I would bring my husband of course.

Who the heck is Gigi whoever??? Sounds like a movie.

I go with the guy who said not to have it in your house. Try holding it on the soccer field instead, with a big pavilion for food and drinks. You could have other pavilions set up just in case it decides to rain.

As to decoration...soccer is a demanding sport, so keeping with the spirit of the game, the venue should be more casual than that you would use for a woman's tea party. Maybe dress your tables in the team's colours. No sissy floral arrangements. How about a soccer ball sitting on a napkin ring as a center arrangement for each table. (These balls could be used to keep the guests happy after their meal, by going out on the field and kicking them around.)

As to the food to serve. It should also be kept casual. How about a barbeque with hamburgers and hot dogs and chili and corn on the cob, and other casual foods. Lots of different salads and fresh rolls and such. (Think of your husband's ideal party for his friends, multiplied a hundredfold!)

The music should be low key...playing from a stereo system in the background, with ceiling speakers set up in each pavilion. Tied into the microphone of course, because you always have to have the guest of honor say a few words, and all the intros and stuff. Again, I would pick the kind of music that people play in their own homes, but at a subdued background level.

Make sure that there is lots of fruit juices and sodas for the kids. Beer and wines for the adults. Everyone can drink out of plastic tumblers, in keeping with the barbeque atmosphere.

And dress should be casually elegant. New jeans with a leather jacket and a coloured silk T underneath, and sneakers. (Better for kicking around those soccer balls.)

i'd bring kaka and cristiano ronaldo. decorate with the 32 flags. serve different cultural foods from those countries. play different popular music. but mostly like hip hop and techno.
