At least she is being honest with you. She is telling you want she wants. Obviously she doesn't feel for you the same as you feel towards her, and that isn't going to work. I do have to agree with the others, 8.5 years and no commitment. Can't really blame her for wanting something new. Maybe she is giving you a wake up call; go the next step or go out of the way...

First of all after 8 years, y is she only a gf? why havent you gotten engaged, or better yet, married. maybe she feels like this relationship isnt going anywhere, and she wants more. If you love her as much as you think you do, show her you want to make a commitment to her, show her you care. Talk to her, you will never find the reason from asking other people, just other people's opinions. Tell her how you feel about her, the situation, or anything else. If she still wants to go, let her, she may come back to you. You need to show her you care, and the easiest way to do that is to talk to her and REALLY LISTEN to what she has to say. and TALK to her and REALLY SAY what you mean.

Babe, I can catetegorically state, that a month ago I was in your position. I was with my partner for a long time too. However I can promise you when they get out into 'the big wide world' she will realise that the grass is not greener. Dating world is and awlful place to be in most of the time and she will realise this.
She maybe just needs a but of space to make this decision on her own.
Agree to the break, believe me it will not last forever, if you have been together this long there is a really good chance you'll last forever!!! Good Luck!! xx

Obviously this person is tired of you and want to try new things, meet new people. You should be doing the same thing.
But make an agreement, that if it does not work then get back together and for God's sake get married already!!!

Apparently, she's not happy with the way things are. Have you spoken to her about it? What's been happening in your relationship? Are you moving forward or are you stagnant? I suggest talking to her. If you can't give her what she needs and wants in a relationship, then the best thing to do is let her go. Good luck.

Just shrug your shoulders and say okay. It's time for you to play mind games on her.
