are you paying for just the name or are more expensive products actually better?? i have tried samples of LaMer, Revive, Kinerase...etc. They all seem to work good, but not sure if they are actually better than Dove, Clean & Clear, etc.

i think they're better. the companywould have to spend a large amount of funds for research & development so as to ensure that their products really work and would satisfy their customer's expectations. Hence, with the high cost, they'll have to pass it on to the buyers so that their company would be able to earn.

So, imagine the amount of research gone into 'cheaper' products?

No. It's a common misconception and I know from experience.

I once watched a segment on 60 minutes about overpriced cosmetic products and why they are so expensive. Like clothing, people are attracted to what's expensive, not necessarily because it looks good, rather given the fact no one can afford it thus making it a rarity. Face products follows the same trend. As a matter a fact, I myself was contemplating whether or not I should purchase this men's product line for $200+, but after further review of the product online--most men that bought the product broke out, suffered from over dried skin and other non improving effects.

Again, from personal experience, I suggest you opt out of cheaper brands first to weed out all products that don't have any benefits to your face. Search the Internet for reviews on products. Here is an excellent community of people that do just that: www.acne.org

When in doubt about buying expensive vs less expensive, check the ingredients on the label. They are listed in order of most of a particular ingredient contained to least amount. Think you'll find they're all pretty similar. Funny thing most contain mineral oil which in No way will penetrate skin layers -- vegie oils Do penetrate skin....go figgure.

the expensive skincare doesn`t mean good or match for your skin but La Mer are the one of good product, agree with you, also lip blam it`s my favorite too, cant compare with the orther bcz some people use normal soab, body cream, etc but they are also have a nice skin ,healthy skin come from inner not outer.

I don't think it matters how much something costs, it is whether it works on your skin. Trial and error I think.
