I'm having a surprise party for my husbands 30th in 2 weeks. Got about 20-odd people coming, most similar age, mainly his old uni-mates who are now professional types, plus a few neighbours, work mates, other friends and the in-laws. They're all a really good laugh after a few drinks.

I'm sorted with the food, drinks etc, but just not exactly sure what we will all do all night! Obviously music, but doubt we'll be dancing due to lack of space. Thought about a bouncy castle, but worried that the weather will be poor, so scrapped any outdoor ideas for now. My husband wouldn't be particularly keen on fancy dress or themes, and a very mixed crowd so nothing naked either!

Just looking for ideas for things to keep us all amused for a few hours. All ideas of activities or tips, stories atc about similar parties most gratefully received!

Budget for entertainment fairly tight as food, drink etc will cost a few ton, but willing to spend a bit if it is a great idea!

OK! OK! try this: First, put plastic sheeting on the floor of the living (read on and you'll see why). Secondly, go to local pond, lake etc and catch some ducks. Next, buy copious amounts of bread. On the night, put the ducks on the plastic sheet (stops them pooing on your carpet), have everyone stand in a circle around the ducks and throw bread. this may sound stupid but I guarantee no one will ever forget the 'DUCK' party.

If this doesn't work try some simple team-building games; just type team building into 'Google'. They're simple to do and a good laugh.

Rent a bus, blind fold him, and have all of his friends and family waiting on the bus to surprise him. After the surprise, have the bus take you bar hopping, or to a sporting event. You could have everyone chip in about $20 per person for the bus. If the bus is too expensive, you can always have the surprise at someone's house.

How about a key party men come in with car keys, put keys in a big bowl at door later when tipsy ladies pick out a set of keys, and go with the owner a walk round the block or??????

All i know is my husband turns 30 in december, and if i so much as mention it he freaks out.

If he's anything like my husband he might prefer 50 bucks and a ride to the bar for that particular day. :)

ask everybody whos coming to bring a photo (baby) and mix them up everybody has to guess who they are. Or you could get everybody to bring an unusual item and let people guess or tell funny stories failing that play charades

For the birthday cake, you should by candles that he can't blow. (The only way is to dip it in water.) Put on a movie, a pinata with candy and finally games where there is a prize for the winner.
