I do but thats only because he is a terrible cook and makes a right mess of the kitchen. I prefer to cook and then he does the washing up.

Why are you a good wife just because you fix dinner? 1st, it should be the job of whoever gets home first, or whoever has an idea for that evening's dinner. I stay home, and my husband works, but him and our son are kind of picky, so I usually wait until he gets home, and then we either make dinner together, or he makes it. He is a super pasta fan, and I hate to cook it, cause he's picky. I do all the other good wife things- like laundry, so I think the dinner thing is nothing! :)

I love cooking all kinds of cuisine. I have 3 teens and a pre-teen at home and we all look forward to family dinners. Yes, I cook everyday but I do it long before any of them arrive at home and all I have to do is heat it. I don't do it because I am an at home mom. I'm an at home mom BECAUSE I enjoy doing it for my family. I also enjoy the fact that my time is my own during the day and I can spend it doing whatever I want such as biking, walking, going to the gym, shopping, luncheons at the club etc...
I like being available to pick up the kids etc... if they should become ill or if their is a school function that requires assistance.
A good wife is one who works hard for the benefit of her family and that doesn't mean she has to be home to do it.
Many working mom's sacrifice to do what they do and I applaud them for it.

I love my guy,and love being his wife. We both work hard, but I still rush home to get dinner started-----------not because I "should",but because I want too. He gets off work an hour before I do and sometimes starts dinner before I get there ,or takes the family out,but usually I do the cooking. I like taking care of my man and my family, and they appreciate it---might be a different story if he "demanded" this of me--I would probably resent it then.

yep I sure do. There are times that I dont feel like cooking so when he gets home Ill og get us something to eat. However when he is home he doesnt have a problem helping in the kitchen. Also we have and agreement I cook he does the dishes. But I dont think its right that if I stay home with the kids he shouldnt have to come home and cook or look for soemthing to eat.

It depends on what night of the week it is. I have school 3 nights a week, so I don't on those nights. Sometimes I'm planning on it, but if our son is sick or something, I just don't have the time so I'll ask him to pick something up on the way home for dinner! I like to cook for him because he doesn't expect it...if he did, I'd probably only cook enough for me and the kids and let him fend for himself!

Yeah I do...and fix his lunch for the next day, have his coffee set to go for the morning, wash and iron his uniform, greet him at his car (only after I get the shower going for him) and bring him a beer as soon as he gets out of the shower. BUT I didn't do all that when I worked too! Then he had to get all his own crap! AND the only reason he gets all that is because every single day he tells me thank you and that he appreciates everything I do for him and the kids. Now if he demanded it he'd be eating microwave meals and wearing dirty clothes! LOL

I sure do, I have his dinner fixed, I fix his plate, put it on the table with his sweet tea, salt and pepper and clean up after he gets done. He works hard all day long, so it is my job to at least have him a hot supper cooked when he gets home.

my mans dinner is ready before he gets home and he pops it in the microwave,he works very odd hours so i never know what time he'll be in,he likes to cook too sometimes and is very good at it , so before bed we always discuss what we will be having, if he wants to cook that day i have no problem with it , my husband and i get along very well together , we respect each other , we do not demand things from each other or expect things from each other

Well, for one thing I'm not a housewife - I work full time just like my hubby. And for another, he works closing shifts so he's not home in the evenings. Finally, I rarely cook. My husband is a pastry chef with 15 years experience so if anyone cooks, it's him.
