No, you don't have to shave. Doctors who exam the pelvic region have seen every kind of 'pelvic region' you could possibly imagine. You're not going to surprise them. Try to remember that you're not going to their office to offer them 'enticement'. It's to get an exam.

A medical professional should have no opinion whatsoever about your choice to shave or not..

The answer is no....you do not have to shave "down there" before a pap smear.

Just be clean so you get a more accurate Pap smear result. They will have you open wide enough so that the hair won't be an issue. Good luck with your results and relax. Remember to take breaths when they swab you so it won't feel as uncomfortable.

Unless your hair hangs down to your knee caps there is no reason to shave at all. The doctors know how to get around that kind of thing.

They've seen it all so I don't really think it matters, but if it makes you more comfortable the by all means shave.

They should be use to all shapes, sizes, designs, smells...So go as you feel comfortable.

Unless you have a rash or growth, you may want to clear the path for easy viewing.

You do not have to shave. A good bathe and scrubbing will be good.
