I'm not sure that there are more gay men than women. I just feel that a lot of women do not tend to come out as publicly or go on the scene as much.

Most lesbians (that I know anyway) only hit the scene for a couple of months (usually when they are coming out) but then meet a woman, move in a week later etc etc.

Also, a lot of lesbians meet through sport and therefore, don't need to visit bars etc.

And in general terms, gay men tend to be more promiscous and therefore go to gay haunts such as bars/saunas etc.

My opinion is that the percentages are close.

i think it could b because sum people dont realise when women r open about being gay, its generally a biggerdeal 2 be a gay male than a gay female!! and if a woman says they r gay then men usualy still presume theyd like a man in the bed!! when they actually dont.

I've never heard this, nor have I ever thought about it. In general, women outnumber men, so I would think that gay women would outnumber gay men as well. Who knows?

If anything I'd say it's the other way round. I know MANY straight women who have been with other women, but not so many men who have been with other men, or at least not so many that will admit it.

You can't be sure. There isn't any accurate statistical data on this. There are more men out on the scene, but maybe that's because lesbians prefer herbal tea...

we cant tell the percentages chuk, only the individual knows which way they swing, and may not want to tell researchers what they are.

it doesn't matter at the end of the day, it is just homophobes/biphobes who make our lives an issue.
