I think it for those who are skilled touchtypist. When you place your four fingers on the keyboard at A,S,D,F and J,K,L,: you will find the forefinger on each hand on the F and J key.

If you look carefully there is another dimple on the 5 at the side keys.

Ask your older family member who is skilled in typing to try out the keyboard and you can see what I mean.

The dimples are where you should have your index fingers at the resting position when you type. If you can feel the dimples in these fingers, then you know you are on the right place on the keyboard without needing to look.

These 2 keys are the center of attractions in the keyboard. I helps you to arrange your fingures properly on the key board.mainly index fingures from both the hands fall under this keys. Mainly these keys are central navigating keys for your keyboard while typing.

Cheers....

the dimples on the f and the j on the keyboard are on every keyboard, they are actually just the keys that your two index or pointer fingers go on when you are learning to type.

They are the beginning where your index fingers for the home keys go. This is where your index fingers should rest while typing.

finger positioning for touch typists. Those are the home keys for your index fingers. If you are a touch typist, you know where all the keys are based on feeling those little bumps.

To know that your fingers are at "home base" for typing. Funny, I'd forgotten about them (after thirty years of typing). Now I'm going to be playing with them all day at work!
