My wife and I hurt for him when we were under the impression that it was suicide. We didn’t pity T.O., but we recognize that he is human, and could very well be crying out for love and acceptance just like the rest of us.
After finding out that it was, at best, a misunderstanding, we were angry for him (not AT him.) The press has gotten irresponsible in its desire to be the first to break a big story. They take no time to get the facts straight, they just figure that they can report the rumor first, then get details later. Whether it’s a sports star, the World Trade Center, or a school shooting, the press starts their job as a fountain of misinformation.

The only emotions I felt were frustration and sadness. Obviously, TO has some issues to deal with, which I get the feeling he can't be open about because he has his image as a tough, manly football player to keep up. But I was frustrated with his publicist for saying "He has 25 million reasons to stay alive." She doesn't get that money doesn't solve everything. Which is also sad. If it were nothing more than a stunt to keep him in the spotlight, that is infuriating and pathetic.

If incredulity is considered an emotion, yes. My first reaction was, why is this news? Digging a little deeper, I wondered why the media continues to give the egomaniac a platform for his shenanigans. If he indeed attempted suicide and succeeded, then it would have merited a few lines covering his career and his troubled professional life. Otherwise, I've had enough of T.O. for this lifetime.

No the man has money& public image out the T.O. If he is so unhappy then he has created his own demise. BOO HOO HOO! Check out your local shelters and visit the families there. They have more self worth than T.O. Emotional ractions come from the heart and if that gave an emotional reaction check priorities.

Yes. It was not important enough to break into regular T.V. to tell us about it. It could have waited until the 10:00 news. AND it just have come AFTER the Colorodo scholl shooting- that is WAY more important than some guy who plays football.

Yes, this was the first aspect of media coverage about him where I felt sorry for him. Not the bemused annoyance with his previous antics, but actual sorrow for what happened, and the fact that it was thrown out in the press so rapidly.
I do not like what I have seen of his actions and attitudes, though I do not discredit his amazing athleticism, but this is one instance where I am fully behind TO and what he needs to do to address this concern, be it an actual suicide attempt, or merely confusion and mistakes brought about my medical reactions

Come on, T.O. loves T.O. way too much to try to kill himself. He summed it up when he said "I love me some me!" This man would never hurt the thing he loves more than anything else in this world, himself.

I feel concern that he is in denial and that he suffers from depression that's going untreated. I wonder if he'll try to harm himself again....
