If you are a single lady or have a guy that is all thumbs and have these small problems with repairing things around your home come up, why don't you consider going to your local book store or even a used book store and find a "How To Do almost everything around the House" book. They are life savers and will save you major $$$.

Older faucets have washers, newer ones have cartridges. Its as simple as turning off the water, turning on both faucets (hot and cold) to release any remaining water pressure, unscrew the handle from the faucet, unbolt the cartridge and then take it to a plumbing supply or home improvement center and get an exact replacement part.

This won't work for the long term but if you have a regular [vs. washerless] faucet, pop off the little plastic or metal caps on top of the offending faucet. Tighten the screw that you find down inside. Replace the caps and

Find the water shut off valve & shut it off. Next take the valves at the faucet apart and replace the little rubber seals in them and put the whole mess back together again, they sell the stuff at every Lowes

chances are it needs a new washer. It' costs less then 5 bucks. Go to the hardware store and talk to some person about how to change the washer.
