Clear silicone applied by a gun as used by builders. Make sure the container is dry. Apply the silicone where it leaks, and smooth it with fingers dipped in soapy water

Get some pond liner, and place it into the container, clipping it or holding it in place by some way or another. Simple and inexpensive.

use a liquid roofing mastic, brought from most diy stores. it comes in a tin and can be brushed on and drys in about 3 hours.
