tell her that you'll hang out with her as long as she's not around them, and if she starts to act like them you'll stop hanging around her. she'll get the picture, if not then she likes them better. but if you guys have a falling out you should let her know that you'll still always be there, because after all shes an old friend.

Wow. First of all, moving to a new school and making new friends is hard. You said that you've made some new friends, so you should really be proud of yourself. Obviously, you have qualities that others look for in a friend. Otherwise you wouldn't have had the same best friend since the fourth grade. Don't let her go, just because of her new friends. She was the new kid, too at some point and had to form new friendships. Try to see what it is about her circle that brought them together. You might be surprised. And after giving these people a real chance, and you still aren't interested in their company, there's nothing that says you can't still hang out with your old BFF one on one.

Be true to yourself and don't get involved in the "politics." You will be the bigger person for it in the long run if you keep yourself out of gossip and the mean games some girls play.

Why are you so obsessed with "popular"? Do you not realize that doesn't mean anything except to the people in that particular clique? You sound like you still have a lot of growing up to do.

you always have room for more friends - stay true to your best friend, try to be nice to the other people and time will sort it out - make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold!
