If you're getting into it for the money, absolutely not. There is never any guarantee anywhere, any place any time that anyone is going to buy ANY of your cards, regardless of what some price guide says they are "worth". Now if you're getting into it for fun as a hobby, then go for it.

Do it if you enjoy it and don't expect to make much if any profit from it. I like older cards much better as they was a lesser production run and they are more saught after. These days boxes of cards will cost between $40-$100 and some that are significantly higher than that. The sport card market has gone down the tube as companies have over saturated the market with their products.

If you love baseball, yes.
If you're so-so about it, you'll end up giving away
the few cards you do happen to buy.
I would readily spend $50 or $100 on a special card I liked,
regardless of value, but that's just silly me. : )

Baseball cards are more like stamps, its up to your believes that you are gonna make a few bucks out of it, its in the circle of people who collects cards that makes it valueable. But if you ask that guy who know's nuts about cards.. Do you think he would fork out $1 for a card thats worth $50?

If you are doing it for the love of the game or a certain player, then YES. If you are looking to "get rich", then NO. You cannot use memorabilia to "get rich". You should use them to remember a player or a certain team. I used them recently to show my girlfriend's son that I had some cards of people just inducted into the Hall of Fame. That made him want to collect his own cards to save until those guys were inducted. It is a fun activity that has a great payoff, but it is not imediate.

So, if you have the patience, then collect the cards.

hmmm my husband literally has our second living room full of baseball, basketball, and football card and memorbillas. He started buy resently off the interent. like the patch and bat card. But there really isnt any real value to most of his. It just depends on what a person is looking for and how much one will spend.

Over the long run, it probably isn't the best investment out there. If you want to do it, then do it as a hobby and don't worry about it's net value.

Kids aren't interested in baseball cards nearly as much as they used to be...so I say No. They are becoming as unpopular as stamp collecting.
