After all you have to do what is right for you and her. But you coulf buy a sterling silver box and have to top engraved with the date and will you marry me. take her to a special place and give her the box after you tell her why she is so special to you etc. With the box she will always have a special reminder of the day you proposed. Here is where I saw this box and got the idea. www.heartstrings.net

Whoever you are proposing to is a lucky girl! What are her interests? You can take her out to do something she loves and propose to her right on the spot. After all the fun of course! Good luck.

If you don't live in NY then fly out here (NY) and visit the Empire State building and propose on the roof! She will have stories for the rest of her life. But add your special touch to it.

My husband took me to the old mill here in the moon light and got down on one knee and asked. It was wonderful.. It had nothing to do with money, it came from the heart.

Does your girfriend bake or cook? For instance if you were to ask her make you a cup of coffee, she could go to the coffee canister and find a diamond ring with a note "Will you marry me?" If not coffee something she is usually going to see or that is part of her schedule. Or you could ask owners of your favorite restaurant to post "will you marry me." on their sign outside where they advertise their specials. That would be very inexpensive. Good Luck
