Don't let the misunderstanding of others get you upset. What difference does it make as long as you know the truth. Who are they to judge you?

Black becomes a colour that you feel comfortable in. It's the most versatile colour to wear - it can look classy, angry, sad or sophisticated. Gothes will always be misunderstood. But in a way it's good because it prevents polo shirt wearing jocks from hanging out in the wrong places and being super annoying. Anything that's portrayed as dark and mysterious will always wrongly get associated with devil worship.
Goths tend to prefer Halloween over Christmas (well I do) and when a pagan holiday is held in higher esteem than a Christain one it tends to lead to societal misconceptions.
A friend of mine once said that goth is a state of mind not how you look, your religious beliefs or only limited to the music you listen to.

You're right, real goths don't worship the devil. Goths recognize and suffer from all the pain & evil out there, so why would they want to encourage more of it by being Satanists? Being goth is more than liking black, after all, nuns & priests wear all black, and they're not goth. Goths are compilicated, and they don't all wear black.
