my wife asked to call 3 numbers about items heard on a local radio swap program. one was a huskie dog. my wife's dog died back in early June and I told her when she was ready for a new one, let me know. she said, call and find out the details about these dogs. i called the dog number, left a message while i was at work and by the end of the day, called back and left a message to call me at home. i was off last friday, then called saturday morning and didn't get anybody. sunday we went to an NFL game and monday i forgot about it, honestly. tuesday we had a huge fight that there wasn't a dog sitting in the house with a pink bow waiting on her. she is on her period, which, I think acounts for some of this, but is this not a bit selfish and crazy? If you've read my other posts you know my wife is a dandy. i apologized, called the people and found out the guy's wife accidently erased my number off their cell phone. i offered to go get the dog and now she says NO. what do i do now??????????

I think you both have more than just a dog issue going on.. Communication. sounds like there was an expectation that YOU would get the dog. perhaps explaining to her that among your other great attributes, mind reading is not one of them and it's unfair of her to hold that against you.

Why can't your wife call?? I know if I were getting a dog, I'd be calling and asking questions, etc... If she's angry about this, tell her that she needs to take control of this. (Sorry, haven't read your other post) I'd just say, "Honey, a dog is a big commitment and I just want to make sure you are getting the right dog for you. Why don't you make some calls and let me know what you decide." That way, you are putting the ball in her court. Good Luck!!

Is she aware of all the calls you have made. It sounds like she is a bit moody, but it's hard to lose an animal. I gave up two in a divorce two and half years ago and I still miss them. When you have a pet you become very attached and being moody can make it worse. Let her know that you have tried to call. Go pick up the dog and she should be nice for a few days.

Secretly go pick up the dog, while you're out pick up the pretty bow, and a single flower like a daisy or something simple and since you already realize that your wife's a "dandy" enjoy the new dog and chalk your wife's temper-tantrum up to hormones.

I'm sorry, but she sounds a little overly hormonal right at the moment. You might consider getting the dog anyway - might perk her up a bit. Some women get a little um..irritated when things are exactly how they thought it should be, but I know when I get that bad and miserable, if my husband would just go ahead with it - it would really help lol.
I know its a horribly contrary thing to do, and we really can be total b***hes...but sometimes going against what we are whining about helps.

Good luck!!

hello,
I would think a nice dinner together and have a friend get dog and have it waiting for her when you get home. PMS can do weird things to women. If you want to really be in her good graces try to remember if she asked you to do something around the house: trash out, dishes put away, laundry (i wish mine was done magically), vacuum rugs, etc.
A love note left for her to find after you leave for work might be nice, a simple i love you and will miss you today.
Best of luck
God bless
