Here's a great site with descriptions of all kinds of things to do...http://www.canaries-live.com/UK/places.html
Tenerife is a fantastic destination for all kinds of watersports, diving and windsurfing. Then there's Scuba-diving, Bob-diving, quad-biking, rock-climbing, camel riding... all the hotels and most self-catering complexes have pools to lounge around. Many of the villas actually have their own private pools and considering that many of the privately owned holiday villas in Tenerife sleep 6 or more you will be pleasantly surprised at the fantastic rates on offer.
There are beaches galore though many are natural pebble or silky, black volcanic sand.

Hope that helps! Have fun!

I have been to tenerife, it was very good, i did go in January so a lot quieter but plenty to see and do, dolphin watching, loro park is good, a lot of street sellers but not to much of a problem, good shopping in Santa Cruze, you can pretty much have what you want, if you just need to relax fine, but if you feel like a party, plenty going on, have fun.................

I went aprox 5 years ago and although I had fun, there are many street sellers who pester you to buy their fake golden chains off you, and or drugs. I also witnessed alot of crime. A man who was in the apartment next to me also got sexually assaulted. this was in playas de la america (not sure about the spelling)
