Why
here are some reasons
1) People are living longer so "till death do you part" is a VERY long time.
2) Religion has lost power to command people to stay together
3) People make rash and impulsive decisions "for love" instead of thinking things thru like they should and used to (marriage used to be about money, land and politics so love was not required)
4) Divorce has become almost "cool" since it is easier than working at the relationship and both sides can go crazy after a divorce by acting like teenagers
5) Women have more rights and independence allowing them to be more capable of walking away to be on their own

I agree with all of your reasons. I also think that this is a "Me, me, me, I want it NOW" generation. That want the quick fix in everything and they want everything to be easy. When difficulties arise then they just bail out. File for a divorce due to all the reasons you listed above.
There isn't any respect for what a VOW truly is. It has become just a few pretty words to mimic at the ceremony.

I think that divorce is the easy way out. Couples today give up the first time a big issue comes in their marriage. Instead of sticking out and working through it, they throw in the towell. Anything worth having is worth working for and people jst don't want to work for it. I think people go into marriages and expect things to just be happy go lucky all the time. Come on, life is full of obstacles and so is marriage. You just got to be willing to get through them.

Divorce is more common among couples that have sex before marriage,

And twice as likely to couples that live together before Marriage.

Our society has is wrong. Our grandparents had it right.

all of those reasons are right. It is also more common for cheating, it is also safer to get out of a bad relationship like an abusive one. Also because people arn't willing to make the marrage last by keeping it interesting.

BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE NOT LEARNING THAT MARRIAGE IS A COMMITMENT AND HARD WORK. THEY ACT LIKE IT IS JUST A GAME, THEN THEY BRING INNOCENT CHILDREN INTO THE PICTURE AND THEY LEARN EVEN LESS. THE CYCLE CONTINUES.
