Definitely. Tampons are so much more comfortable an hygienic than pads. It also is much better for when you play sports or are active. It will take practice to insert it properly with as little pain as possible. A good idea is to use something like petroleum jelly (Vaseline) at the tip of the tampon to make insertion smoother and easier.

yes there is nothing wrong with wearing tampons as long as your specifically wearing them for your period only....especially if u want to go swimming during the time of the month. U can also wear tampons if your a virgin too. If it is uncomfortable to wear it then don't wear it. there are many different sizes of tampons and make sure u follow the direction properly and u change them properly.... hope i was helpful

There shouldn't be any reason as to why she cannot......my daughter started to wear them young.......since all the friends were.....however she experienced pain when using the regular size......she uses the thin regulars for teens.....if she has any pain or discomfort I wouldn't recommend it.......but otherwise the new ones out on the market for teens are made for their "smaller bodies". Best wishes.

11-years-old is not too young to use tampons, however you should make an educated choice about what menstrual options you use whether it be tampons, pads, menstrual cups or whatever else you want to use.

Tampons are very bad for vaginal health because they are very unhygienic; they prevent vaginal self-cleaning functions, dry out the vaginal walls, introduce chemicals into the vagina, and give bacteria a pores moist warm area to multiply – thus why tampons are linked with toxic shock syndrome, vaginal infections such as bacterial vaginosis and vaginal splitting. There are also other issues such as commercial tampon manufacturer's ethics, supporting negative body-image, environmental concerns, cost, and contribution to menstrual problems such as menstrual cramps.

At 11-years-old it is recommended that you use external options such as commercial pads, organic pads, cloth pads, homemade pads, padded panties or other options such as free-flow methods. Commercial tampons also carry risks because they prevent air getting to your vulva (external part of your genitals) and contain chemicals that can cause irritation and infections such as thrush.

When a little older and better educated about your body then safer options are recommended such as menstrual cups and softcups like Divacup or Instead, these are a lot safer than tampons as well as more convenient, more hygienic, environmentally friendly, don't contribute to menstrual problems, cheaper and body-positive.

If you do use tampons then you should consider tampons such as organic tampons, sponge tampons or homemade tampons as unlike commercial tampons these are made of natural material and don't contain chemicals or bleach so lessen the health risks associated with tampons.

It's not recommended for any female who has not had sexual intercourse. 11 year old girls should fall in that category.
