I don't want the sort of one that i'll regret when i'm older so was thinking of some sort of smallish one near the top of my arm. I suppose i should put in a place where it'll be seen and not covered by a tshirt or should i half hide it? Don't know what rest of my family will think because none of them have tatoos. Any good websites with designs on them that i could use for a tatoo? Any good ideas in general? Advice on tatoos either is appreciated. 10 points to most helpful answererer

I have a rosary around my wrist and I don't think I will never regret. Not even when I am 86 in the nursing home. If you pick a tattoo that has real meaning to you, it doesn't matter if your family or anyone else likes it. I also have tribal art around my ankle and in the middle there is a paw print. That was my first one. My twin nephews came up with that idea because I am a dog groomer and own my own shop.

I am a 36 yr old soccer mom and to look at me you would never think that I have a tattoo, but I have 7 and am about to get my 8th. Tattoos are very personal and should represent a quality, hobby, religion or belief that you hold that you know will not change. Or maybe even a stage in your life that you want to mark. No one can really tell you what to get otherwise you will regret it later. Check out this website: www.tattoos-by-design.co.uk for some ideas. I have chosen to place my tattoos in places where I can show them off or hide them depending on my mood. (shoulder, ankle, belly, back) Your family will most likely disapprove but if it what you truly want then go for it. Good luck!!

The only regret I have in life is that I did not act upon my impulses enough in the past. So go ahead and get any tattoo that is pasionate to you. Don't worry if you would regret it later. Don't live in the future.

The best tattoos are what you are really passionate about. It could be a person, an idea or a feeling. It could be a cross, your astological sign, a word (maybe in an exotic languange) that represents what you consider important in life.

I have a sicke, hammer and star tattooed on my shoulder. I don't consider myself a communist anymore but I don't regret it

You will regret putting it there if you are a girl. for the next 50 years it will be there. Try a tempera tattoo in that spot that you want it. See if you can get used to it. See if it will affect what you wear because there comes day............ Just do not be impulsive and pick something meaningful no names or anything. there are books of Symbols ancient and modern), Kanji Kana, and tattoo shows (magazines).

I think lots of colour is a bad thing with tattoo's. Partners names are also a bad thing coz you never know if your always gna be with them. Surnames n childrens names will always be the same so they could work out as a good base for a tattoo. I think anything below the t-shirt line is a no no coz that could interfere wiv work and in other areas. Its alot to think about coz they are there for life n cost alot to get removed n leave n awful scar! Trust me!

Do yourself a favor. After you have decided on the design, wait a year before getting it applied. That way, you can assure yourself that it is the pattern you would want and will be less likely to regret it later.

Tattoos are a permanent reminder of a temporary sentiment. Having a tattoo may impede your employment options later in life, if it is visible when normally clothed.

I personally like the idea of a crop circle as a tattoo. They're so pretty and intricate. Just do a google image search for "crop circle" and check it out. I guess the most important thing is to get something that means something to you or that you think is nice looking.

you dont sat how old you are but your thinking is on track.....i have 5 tattoos. I would agree with you about not getting anything your ashamed of. Someday you might work in an office or some other professional place...you dont want to get something youll be embarrased about......dont get anything obscene or anyones name....you may be a grandmother someday you dont want to have to explain to your grandkids why when you were young you got a skull and dagger on your arm....I dont think if u want a tattoo then dont hide it....im not saying put it on your forehead either but Ive never been ashamed of what I have....as for your family....well you have to be comdfortable here....are you more interested in pleasing thewm or pleasing you?.....as for what to get? get something that means something to you....something reflective of what you think you are or your personality.......good luck!

Yucck! Don't. I hate tatoos on anyone. I don't think I could make it with a girl with a tatoo.

You could do a simple heart with a loved ones name on it. that one wont hurt as much on your upper arm.
