Hey Brad,
You will be summoned, and could be jailed. You better get in contact with the authority at the court, and avail yourself to them. They may 'forgive you'.

Oh they won't believe you "forgot," but contact the court in writing, and tell tehm about it. If you contact them, they'll re-issue another opportunity for you. If not, then you're in trouble.
If you have an honest way that you just can't meet the obligations of jury duty, write to them and request that you not be considered. I did that when my children were small. Putting me for an undefined amout of time out of my job, where I was not getting paid for that time off, extra baby sitting costs and the unpredictability of it all, they granted my request to not attend jury duty, in Middletown

If you are gone when you are scheduled I don't see a problem for the simple reason is that you are no longer a RESIDENT of that jurisdiction. I would inform the court NOW, certified mail, return receipt request, that you will be moving from the area for whatever length of time you are gone. Send any documentation you have as evidence. Do not deal with a clerk. Send your documentation to whomever's name is on your appearance request.

In most states the send you a letter (a nasty scary letter) and resummons you, if you "forget" again your most likely going to get fined and could even face jail time in some states.

These answers are false. It's a fine of $121.00 and they haven't even fined anyone according to reports in a real long time

oh my, this is one of those things that one should not forget. You better come up with a better excuse for the judge and pray like heck the judge is in a forgiving mood.

If you don't have a valid excuse, the juge can hold you in contempt of courts and jail you, to teach you a lesson.
