There isn't a difference in the level of achievement attained, only in the type of subject studied.
You can get BAs in subjects that are always considered scientific (biology or chemisty for example) because some universities only award a BA. You won't see people getting a BSc in English though.
Some degrees (social sciences in particular) can be either a BA or a BSc, sometimes offered by the same institution (UCL offer either a BA or a BSC in Anthropology/Geography, for example) That kind of differentiation probably gives you an indication of whether the course was more focused on science or the humanities.

Difference Between Ba And Bsc

Where I used to work all the people with BSCs used to reckon that a BA wasn't a real degree. I have a BSc and my wife has a BA and to be honest the only difference is the subject being studied.

Inncidentally I was chatting to a group of BA graduates once and they reckoned that a BSc wasn't a proper degree. Go figure...

You're correct about BSc meaning Bachelor of science but the A in BA actually stands for arts - not art. This can include things like English literature, history, teaching and languages

They're both at the same level (they should both take about three years of full-time study). The only difference is the subject that the degree is in.
Some universities also do a BEng for engineering students. For all the abreviations follow the link below.

Generally, there is little difference between them. Occasionally there will be an employer with a silly rule about needing a BS degree and a BA won't do, but that is rare. For most purposes, they are the same.

BA is Bachelor of Arts, so subjects like English or History etc. BSc is a bachelor of science, so the degree is in a science based subject.

One is in Arts subjects and the other in Science subjects. A BA is easier to get, but a BSc is much more worthwhile.

it would give an indication of what subject the degree in, e.g. illustration is a BA, but chemistry would be a BSc
