The military is tied up in Iraq, soldiers are forced into 2nd and 3rd tours. Ahmadinejad shows no sign of responding to any international pressure re nuclear development, North Korea has developed and tested nuclear missiles, Chavez comes to the UN and spouts off about Bush the devil.
What's stopping these guys? They know we're tied up. Aren't the priorities out of whack?
Serious answers only please.

To leogirl;
Most soldiers want to go back? Got some proof for that? I didn't think so.
Also, take a look at your calendar. Bush has been in office for six years now. Blaming N. Korea on Clinton? That's kinda pathetic.

Bush has no foreign policy, except to bully everyone that gets in his way. There has never been so much turmoil worldwide. We have lost the respect of our longtime allies and the damage Bush has caused is irreparable. His solution for all disagreements or philosophical differences is aggression. Diplomacy is not in his very limited vocabulary.

Bush is a no nonsense leader of strong convictions. He thinks straight. Either black or white, you are with me or you are against me and so on. I can not say he has weakened the nation. He has certainly made US most unpopular in the Muslim world. It may be stated that politics today is not simple. It is not digital yes or no. It is more analogue and complex. Texan shoot from hip attitude may not work in today's complex world.Iraq was a wrong choice. It would have been a different story if it was Iran instead of Iraq. One need not much care about carping of Chavez. The strength of a policy lies in achieving your national objectives with out much loss of your own resources. The beauty lies in making your problem some one Else's as in Afghanistan. You will never be a popular President with 2700 body bags back in the country.

Bush's foreign policy may not be popular but I don't believe it is responsible for weakening the US as much as I believe that we the citizens are weakening the US.
We've all heard the phrase 'United We Stand, Divided We Fall', and 'A house divided againt itself is bound to fall'. If you don't take those two statements seriously then you don't care about what is happening.
We all may not like the policies of President Bush but that doesn't mean that we should intentionally try to undermine our President in a time of war. Many Americans are doing just that.
Ahmadinejad is no dummy. He sees that. Chavez is just a psycho. Not to mention when you have countries like France, Germany and Russia (our supposed allies) doing all they can to discredit our Leaders in front of the world I'm afraid there isn't much that can stop them.
Why should the countries of the world step up and support us when our allies and our own citizens won't.
It's a scary world today.
I don't believe that Bush's policies are out of whack. I believe that those in our country who will do anything they can to defame our President and our country in a time of war have their priorities out of whack. But you can't get them to see it.
It will be interesting to see how many serious answers from people truly concerned about this you receive back and which way the people who give you accusatory and unproductive answers lean.
You are not alone in your concern Dizz. I'll admit it, I'm worried about all of our futures..

You must have just started reading the paper. Let me get you up to speed. Most soldiers want to go back to iraq. They get kickin bonuses. In the great scheme of things the talks with Iran are relatively new. Believe me, this is much more important to Europe and the rest of the middle east than it is to us. Gee, are you saying that Clintons negotiations with North Korea where a big fat failure? You bet they were. Chevez is a creep, but sticks and stones. Also I will not buy Citgo and it appears that 7-11 is also going to stop buying Citgo.

I still think he was given too much credit by Chavez, in my book he ranks as, at most, a minor demon.
Apart from that, the answer is yes.
Do you remember the sympathy for the US all over the world, even in many Muslim countries, after the 11.th September?
He lost it all for you, and made the American flag into a symbol of greed, bullying and wanton destruction not only for traditional enemies, but for friendly states as well.
