I find the best shampoo for dandruff is Neutrogena's T-Gel. It's made with coal tar, so it has a pretty strong smell (I personally don't like the smell, but it doesn't bother many). I usually follow it with my regular shampoo and conditioner to help with the odor. And I only use it every other day when I have dandruff. It's usually gone in less than a week.

Beleive me , most of the people dont know this thing,,, the greatest cause of dandruff is "cleaning hair with hot water"

cleaning hair with both very hot and very cool water causes dandruff to come up, always use normal water for hair.

use shampoo that best suits you, because different shampoos suit different people, and for the dandruff, just take bath/shower with hot water, but wash hair separately with normal water.

I have helped out many people through this advice, make it a routine and the dandruff will be permanently gone.

head and shoulders is the nicest shampoo i have ever used - although i don't have dandruff (anymore!), i love love love this shampoo! it has a fresh, clean scent, and really cares for your hair AND scalp. i'm even more hooked now they've got their own conditioners too. the classic clean range is the one i use (i didn't like the citrus one, haven't tried any others). my boyfriend uses the one for men too, a small bottle lasts him over a month and he uses it every day. to prevent build up of styling products on your hair, use a weekly shampoo such as the neutrogena one (i can't remeber the name!) and a lovely deep conditioner like the herbal essences ones. mmmmmmmm! also, if you blow-dry and straighten your hair, make sure you use a heat defense spray! the trevor sorbie range, straightening addict, is fantastic - gorgeous smell and no build up or residue. people always comment on the condition and shine of my hair - now you know my secrets!

Most of the shampoos to control dandruff contain a zinc compound, such as zinc pyrithone (sp?). Head and Shoulders, and Selsin blue are good.

T gel is the best, its one of the most expensive but after about two washes of the stuff there should be hardly any dandruff left. it maybe work leaving some oil in the hair over night, olive oil or almond oil will do the trick.

Head and shoulders is great for dandruff, but it also strips colour out of your hair. trust me. actually i purposefully used it once for that reason, as my hair had come out a terrible colour. it took a few weeks but it toned down to a bearable colour eventually.
