NO I don't why because the government thinks we the people are too stupid and uneducated to truly elect a leader as well as we are a republic, where people are made to feel that their votes count due to representation, but that is a myth .. proof? here the majority (republican state ) voted for term limits to end career politics, and it passed, but then the republican representative went to the supreme court (controlled by congress..well at least influenced by them) and had our, The peoples vote overturned.. so I can definitely with strong conviction say NO ... but for the record.. i do still vote just in case someday we get a little justice!

Your vote represents a vote for that electoral college. If enough votes in your state goes to a candidate then the electoral college is suppose to cast a vote to that candidate. In that way yes your vote is counted, in the case of the dibold voting machines there is some doubt that your vote is counted correctly. I am still going to vote, regardless of the outcome.

Your voice counts a lot more than your vote. Being vocal about the issues leading up to the election sways the outcome of the voting much more than your single vote. Today more than 80% on Americans believe we should pull out of Iraq. If people express that feeling vocally, it draws those who have thought so secretly to express the thought as well. Once popular opinion is established, the election will go in that direction.

My vote counts BECAUSE of the electoral college. I think you need to study the electoral college a little more and you will see the wisdom.

Yes it is true that the electoral college is the true voting power but they would commit political suicide if they went againts the popular vote.
