It is said by Maya civilisation but actually that civilisation according to the Puranas in India was established by Maya danava an expert architect who had connection with Vedic culture and civilisation. except the linguistic proof derived from his name (Maya) there are many other similarities of Mayan civilisation with the Vedic. it is reputed to have been the Mayans however there are some that think that most places like Giza Plateau in Egypt where built by some one else and were later abandoned leaving it to others to later inhabit the region it's a much on going debate
