Jon Brower Minnoch (1941-1983) was the heaviest man ever (even at his heaviest, however, he was 200 pounds lighter than female Carol Yager, the heaviest human). At his peak weight, he was approximately 1400 lbs. (635 kg). This figure was only a close estimation, however, because his extreme size, poor health, and lack of mobility prevented use of a scale.
Dr Robert Schwartz, a consultant Endocrinologist, estimated that when Joe Brower Minnoch was admitted to the University Hospital in Seattle in March 1978 he weighed more than 635kg (100 stone). Mr Minnoch was in congestive cardiac failure and it had taken 12 firemen to squeeze him out of his home and onto a ferry-boat to get him to the hospital. He stayed in hospital for over 2 years and was discharged a spritely 216kg (34 stone) after a strict 1200 calorie a day diet. Sadly he was readmitted in 1981, a year or so later having gained 89kg (34 stone). He died in September 1983 aged 42 weighing 362 kg (57 stone).

Heaviest Man
The heaviest person in medical history was Jon Brower Minnoch (USA, 1941–83), who had suffered from obesity since childhood. He was 185 cm (6 ft 1 in) tall and weighed 178 kg (28 st) in 1963, 317 kg (50 st) in 1966 and 442 kg (69 st 9 lb) in September 1976.
In March 1978, Minnoch was admitted to University Hospital, Seattle, where consultant endocrinologist Dr. Robert Schwartz calculated that Minnoch must have weighed more than 635 kg (100 st), a great deal of which was water accumulation due to his congestive heart failure.
