I am British. Not an immigrant. I pay my parents rent, and understand where some of you are coming from.

America is a Nation of laws that anyone is free to follow or pay the consequences. That is the freedoms we have here.

Go to the street corner anywhere in the U.S.A. and distribute the Holy Bible; now go to Gujarat, Karnataka, Asmara, China, etc and attempt to do that.

Yes, but are you told where to live? Are you taxed so much that you can only afford a shack? No you're not. So this is a free county. I wouldn't complain about our taxes, try Canada or Great Britain, you'll feel much better about ours.

No such thing as a free country as people are bound by law and authority. We need law and order but we also have rights and our rights make this country relatively free compared to dictatorships and other crap countries round the world

you are free to complain about what you pay for. Some places you can't complain because you end up dissapearing forever.
Oh, and who is going to pay for the workers who maintain the road you drive on or provide the water that you drink.

We are free from dictators, and free from taxation without representation.
We have many freedoms.
Everyone has to pay taxes. How would you drive your car without road taxes. Who would pay the police or firemen?

You are free to belong to whatever religion you want (as long as it's christian)
You are free to work wherever you want (as long as it's for one of the major oil companies, restaurant chains, or Wal Mart)
You are free to eat wherever you like (as long as it's McDonalds)
You are also free to vote for whomever you like (as long as it's a Republican!)
--A free country!
