Although loaches enjoy dining on snails, they tend to eat only the ones they can swallow easily. As long as you buy larger snails, you will be fine.

puppy shops abode pets at the same time commonly that often should not be at the same time. I paintings in a puppy shop... from time to time the blend works contained in the puppy shop only because fish are overstocked contained in the tank. maximum fish received't behave evidently at the same time as in a crowded aquarium. many human beings use this technique with african cichlids. As for the snails and loaches, that relies upon on the dimensions of the loach. Clown loaches get somewhat large. in the experience that they are small, they'd no longer have an interest contained in the apple snails. Goldfish also devour snails. we've a ninety gallon aquarium housing goldfish and more than a number of alternative apple snails, without subject matters. i wager what i'm getting at is, it actually relies upon on the dimensions of the fish and length of the snail. A fish often received't devour something that would not slot in its mouth.

Your fish are small enough that I think you can probably bring in a medium to large size apple snail. I don't know if clown loaches eat apple snails in particular, but some varieties of snails are in their food chain. Just to be certain, don't buy the snail if it is expensive. It is possible that the clown loaches will try and eat it. Something that might be helpful to you if you really want to get a snail is one of those mesh cages that you can stick onto the side or bottom of the aquarium with suction cups. I used these when I bred angelfish and they worked out beautifully. Gradually introduce the fish to the snail and watch them to see if they try to eat it or if they just ignore it. If they ignore it for several hours, then you probably don't have to worry about it.

Eventually, yes, they will eat the snail. Perhaps not immediately if the snail is large. However, keep in mind that clown loaches ultimately reach about a foot in length. Eventually, the snail will become a clown loach appetizer. Clown loaches are often used to control snail populations in aquariums.

Clown Loaches will eat a wide variety of foods including: brine shrimp, bloodworms, snails, and various dried foods (http://www.loaches.com/species_pages/botia_macracanthus.html)
Mine love earthworms (cut up very small) and a snail is not a far stretch from worms so I don't think your apple snail would last very long in a tank with loaches

Yes they will eat the snail. I put clown loaches in my tank to control the snail population.

They will probably eat your snail. Clown loaches LOVE to eat snails and they'll find your apple snail very appetizing.

An apple/mystery snail is likely a bit big for them, but I suspect they will kill it sooner or later.
