I asked this one a few years ago of a vendor. The answer came down to power. Each USB port can draw up to 0.5A (500mA). Do the multiplication (0.5A * #-of-ports) and ask yourself if you want a single device which could draw that much power on a normal household circuit

USB can support 255 devices I believe. I do not know if anyone manufactures a hub as large as you are talking about. However you can buy smaller hubs and daisy chain them togther so long as you don't exceed the power limitations of your computer's power supply.
