the excitement of the fresh and the new....

courting (in old terms) - the excitement of knowing you are going to see someone, the skipped heartbeat, the flush of blood...this fades over time...it changes into something else, not necessarily worse, but something else...lust beocmes love

If your in an honest relationship you wouldn't consider having a fling if the honest relationship is good enough.
Obviously there is problems with the honest relationship are causing discontentment and there no effort to make it exciting, deeply loving and affair free. A lot of the emotional contentment and attachment can be gone and that's why an affair or fling can become so powerful.
Not every relationship is meant to last and affairs and flings are one way of letting you know this, and usually there is other signs that the relationship is drifting apart even before a fling or affair happens. It is then of course up to you to decide to either stay in the relationship and do your best to make the principle relationship work or leave it. A fling or an affair is only as powerful as it can be, its the two people involved that makes it what it is. Only you can let your heart be our guide.

Relationships require alot of work and time!!!!!!! Fling is just a quick shot and away again, no working at it, no resolving any problems!!!!! So i suppose you can say the fling is the easier option!!!

Wouldn't reccomend as the grass always looks greener on the other side, but when you get to the other side there is generally a big fence put up and you can't get back, and when that greener grass goes brown you have nothing and no-one and you can't go back to the "now" greener grass on the other side!!!!

A fling has no ties, no responsibilities, and no expectations. It's exciting and there's nothing routine about it; however you do miss out on the fun of really getting to know someone.

cause it's more exciting.

Like, (stupid example)

A fling is like Angelina Jolie, so seductive/ while an honest relationship is like Jennifer Aniston, nice and comfortable. You know Jennifer Aniston would be with you no matter what, but you're still gonna have a fling with Angelina Jolie, even though you know she's gonna dump your ***.
