It's not hours, it's how much you earn.
Check your tax code. If it is something like 503L then you can 5030 punds per year before paying tax.

The amount of hours depend with your salary.
Every tax paying person in the UK has a personal allowance of about £5,000. This means that the first £5000 of income that you earn in any given year is not taxable.
Not completely sure with National Insurance, I think NI is payable with the first income that you earn however a tax expert may be able to correct me.
For the sake of simplicity let say that your salary pays £30,000. Mathematically speaking £5,000 over £30,000 multiplied by an average working days in a year (260) gives you 43.3 days. If you assume that the full working hours each day in 8 hours, and that you still want to work from Monday to Friday the maximum hours you can work each day is 1.33 hours. So get packing now!

you can work up to 9 hours of overtime before you are pushed into the next tax bracket, generally. I'm at 4 1/2 for this week! :-)
