They can be friends, however in the ever change work atmosphere and surroundings because you meet these people day in and day out and you effecitvely work with them, you get to know them, you will never know when feelings for that person begin to take force but someone people if they have a lot of attraction instead of being a friend/colleague it will usually develop in to something more serious!

With colleagues you are of course a little formal and it is possible to be just friends. No one can say how a relationship will turn out to be. Human mind and emotions are complex and most unpredictable. It all starts with friendship. Then holding of hands. One thing leads to another and soon you land up in something called love. Then the usual story.

I believe it is possible to be friends with the opposite sex. i am a girl who has mainly guy friends and yeah some have wanted it to be more but a lot of them do eventually realise that you are just a friend and that is it (ie they are not going to get anywhere with you). it is only nature for the opposite sex to think that when you just even talk to them that you are interested because thats the way life works, just make it very clear without being too blunt that all you are after is friendship and nothing more! hope that answers your question. I work in a male dominated environment and have lots of male friends. We also socialise and go out for meals but never has it gone any further as we are both happy in our marriages. However, if one wants more out of it than the other it wont work very well.

I used to think so when I was married. I have been divorced for years, and I see that it may not be. I have had to stop talking with some co-workers because that is the only way to deal with it. Can't keep being around someone and not being able to be with that someone. Emotionally draining.

of course they can, but if you reach a bond or connection there will always be a point where one or both parties are curious about going the next step, allot of great relationships begin that way, but no matter what men will always love women and women will always love men, its natural so don't be surprised if it happens, and no matter what even if its totally Platonic he probably thinks you have a nice *** any way.

most of by best friends have been men. So yes it is possible. However if the friendship only started because one was hoping for more it could cause heartache. true friendship means that there is no awkwardness between you.
