No offense, but do not leave trash out in just a sack, and if you have too put chains and locks on any trash cans that aren't in a shed.
If you have pets, don't feed them outside.
If you use bird or small animal feeders, use less food for them.
Screen and cap your chimney allowing use of the fireplace, but cutting off external access.
Racoons are opportunists, and omniverous. If they find nothing to enjoy in your yard they will move on.

Coons are very smart, and they know where they can get food. If you've ever left food, or trash out, that's why they're hanging around. It will take a while to get rid of them after you've done something else with the trash. Years ago, I lived in an apartment, and raccoons were always in the dumpster. They can open trash cans, and dumpsters. You can get traps that lure the coon into it, so you can relocate it somewhere else. They're also mean, so be careful.

i'd not favor to take any possibilities of the raccoon attacking the cat somewhat if he changed into rabid. in case you do to not wreck the raccoon you could purchase a stay seize (it somewhat is danger-free) from a feed shop. as quickly because it really is captured you could call animal administration or another company on your state which will come get the raccoon and relocate it to a unique position effectively (re-introducing to flora and fauna). My sister owned a raccoon once (discovered it at the same time as it changed into about an afternoon or 2 previous). They raised it round rabbits and cats and they were given alongside nicely. in spite of the indisputable fact that, at the same time as they attain puberty they do change into very aggressive.

Well first you need to cap your chimminy. Use Trashcans with locking lids. Then use a live trap to catch them with out catching your neighbors cat. Once you have your trapped raccoon you have several meathods of disposal. Out here I give them to a older guy that loves BBQ raccoon. But if you want to let them go then you will need to take them at least 5 miles away and cross over running water or they will come back.

Put one of those chimney caps on the chimney. That keeps out birds too.
