My 10 yr old son is wanting a comp. pen pal and I have no idea where to even begin looking. There are so many bad things on the net these days that I want to throughly check into it before I agree. Any ideas where I should begin?

I don’t need a pen pal but following can be helpful to you in finding pen pals.
Friendship knows no boundaries. One can make friends locally in one’s area and to the remotest area also thru internet. There are chat friends, online dating friends on the Internet. Another category of friends which is gaining ground on the Internet these days is Pen Pal friends. One can make pen pal friends online, share his views with others through this source also.

My son who is 12 has a pen pal thru school. Maybe your son's teacher may help you with this. I think that's about the most secure way to find one.

I would suggest Googling, "Pen Pals for Children".

I found a few websites that seem relevant.
