I had one in Dec 05, and they said if the blood is not really heavy that I don't have to go in...(I also did not have health insurance) everything went fine and the bleeding stopped a couple days later...I'm just wondering now because I have been trying again if I could not be getting pregnant because I should have gone for a D&C even though the nurse told me I didnt have to? Anyone have any idea?

I was 7 weeks along.
That was an estimate though, seeing as how the first doctor didnt even check for a heart beat...

I have been trying since then, but I have very irregular periods and all that...so it's really hard to get preggo, I get health insurance on Friday (tmw) so I will be going to my doctor to ask about fertility.

I had a miscarraige several years ago, one that did not require a D&C. If you are not so far along, or the baby hasn't developed properly, it is not required that you have one. You will pass all of the blood and tissue without any medical intervention. If the nurse told you you didn't have to, she was probably right.

Be sure to know when you are ovulating to best increase your chances of getting pregnant. You can chart it (talk to your doctor to find out how), or you can use an online ovulation calculator. (You can look these up on Google) Warning: you have to have a steady period in order for these to be accurate. Then when you get a date of ovulation, try to have sex three days before and three days after that date (and obviously, on that date!) This will best increase your chances for getting pregnant. (I did this and got pregnant the first time!)

GOOD LUCK!

How far along were you? How long have you been trying again? You're probably OK. I had an early miscarriage--it was like a heavy period. Didn't require any medical care and managed to get pregnant the next time I ovulated (but I was 24 then and no doubt at the peak of my fertility).

I had a miscarriage may of last year and even though i was put in the hospital overnight i did not have to have a D&C. I was 5 weeks along. they had done an ultrasound and they seen the fetus was not no wheres in me anymore. I did not bleed heavy at all with my miscarriage.

You would of had problems not long after that if the fetus wasn't completely expelled from your body (Pains/Infection/Etc.)

I have not had no problems at all since that happened to me.

I am so sorry for your loss. If you did need a D&C done they would have done it no matter if you didn't have insurance.

Go to http://www.miscarriagesupportauklandinc.com or http://www.askpat.com

Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating.
(It is a free and helpful site)

Good luck

A D&C doesn't help or hinder you trying to conceive in the future, the only thing it does is helps you to get rid of anything that could cause an infection if not removed quickly.

if you would have needed a D &C you would have gotten a heavier bleeding bc thats the bodys natural way to elimanate whats in there left over. Relax and try not to think so much about TTC bc it usually hapens when your not stressing

I had my miscarriage at home too .....at least one of them...I think what is happening is normal.you are trying to conceive again but at the same time are scared now due to what happened before..All this worry and stress messes with the bodies cycle...Take a breath..RELAX..........you would of known by now if a further step would of been needed after the miscarriage...SORRY for your loss....GOOD Luck and GOD BLESS

It may take time for your body to readjust, but I think you'll be just fine. If they didn't think you needed one at the time then you probably didn't.
