the question here is, do you want to lose WEIGHT or LOSE FATS ? in my opinion as a personal trainer, most people get this terminology wrong, they go around saying they want to lose weight, weight is accompanied by muscle and fats, You do not want to lose your muscle but rather your fats. yes.. doing cardio works for 30mins 4 times a week would help you lose FATS, here lies the problem of nutrition and work stress. keep it up on what you are doing, let me know if you are on your way to a better self. mail me at fitness976@yahoo.com there is whre i answer all my clients question.

Any activity should help. To lose weight, remember simple math. Burn more calories than you eat.

Don't be overly concerned about weight. Focus more on looking good and being healthy. Using the following program, I lost 5 lbs a week for eight weeks.

Diet is extremely important. To slim your body you must:

Burn more calories than you eat.

Cut your fat intake.

Eat three cups of fat free low cal yogurt a day (make sure it has live cultures in it) and pineapples. This helps you break down your food.

Do 45-60 min. of aerobic exercise a day (preferably before you eat in the morning). This will attack the fat.

Do 30 min of weight training three times a week. This will build lean muscle which will in turn burn fat.

I lost 40 lbs in two months and have kept it off for two more months doing this. I also took my body fat % from 30% to 14%

Be Blessed

Yes...running four times a week for about thirty minutes will show results in time. Remember to hydrate...Also the key to remember to all this running and trying to lose weight is to eat right. Cut back on the unhealthy eating habits but don't go without eating. Also eat at a regular time every day so as not to throw your metabolism out of whack. Also consult with your physician as to what is best for you. Your physician can always point you in the right direction, like a dietician. Good luck....don't over do it. Have fun with it that is the best thing to do.

If you are very overweight then walking would be appropriate.

Exercise alone is hopeless for losing weight. To lose one kilogram you would have to walk many miles.

Exercise with calories reduction has been shown by some research to be much more effective than calorie reduction on its own.

yes but try to lose weight before doing all that running it will be better for your joints - take a lot of strain off if you are indeed over weight

Of course it will! Providing you manage to keep it up whilst eating a healthy diet at the same time, watch the pounds drop off!

that is great that you are motivated to do that, but perhaps if you are overweight, you should try just walking as it can hurt your joints, a good fast walk is just as good as a slow jog.....good on you.....keep at it
