Spit on a soldier around me and someone xis going to get hurt. One can disagree with the war, the administration, how we conduct the war, how we treat prisoners, etc..etc.. But to spit on a soldier is beyond protest. Unforgivable and unconscionable. Period
Cliffpott- Go live where soldiers still goosestep and find out what is is like there. Read about Nazi Germany and see what that was like. Talk to a Holocaust survivor and see the difference in what you have and that kind of government. you remind me of a spoiled little kid that's not getting his way. And I am not even a Republican.

spitting on soldiers is wrong and disrespectful, burning the American flag is a form of protest. Neither is a act of patriotism.

Curmudgeon - You're right soliders are not spat upon in the U.S. But all they have to do is find ONE whacko who disrespects a soldier somewhere, and then they say all liberals do this!
Birdsnake - Republican military veterans opposed the President's pro torture bill in the Senate. Either you don't read the news at all or you're deliberately misstating the facts.
