The GoodHousekeeping website or Home and Garden (I can't remember which) has free room arranging on their site, you just add the dimensions of the room and the sizes of the furniture and you can play around with how to arrange the room...I think it's BHG.com...

It should be arranged where things are easily accessible to you. I tried to make my baby's room look good, but quickly learned that it didn't matter what it looked like at 2am when I needed diapers & a change of clothes. The only thing that matters is convenience!
If things aren't arranged just right nobody is going to notice. When people come to your home they come to see the baby, not the nursery, and not you either, lol!

Have you considered sharing your room with your baby? I found it was much easier with both of mine to just roll over in bed and nurse than to actually get up, and they slept better, too, knowing I was right there.
If you have a separate room for baby, make sure it's safe, first and foremost. Covers on the outlets, straps holding heavy furniture to the wall so it doesn't tip over, no hanging cords on the window blinds, etc. Set up a comfortable nursing area. Rocking chair, Boppy pillow, snacks and water, a lamp within reach, a couple of magazines. . . .

You should make your childs room comfortable for you because you should be able to enter the room with very little light because you will have to change the baby in the middle of the night
