I am sick of all political parties in general. I am an independent, albeit a moderate conservative one. The reason I am independent is because I refuse to tow the party line. No political party properly represents all of my views. So I choose to select representatives on a candidate by candidate basis relying on their proposed platform and previous performance in the case on incumbents. Politicians in general appear to be more unresponsive than ever to the wishes of their constituents. It is time for change in this country, but we are not going to achieve it through the current party structure where money drives decision making rather than true ideology.

American elitists have one party with two branches. They are called by the names Democrat and Republican and both have party leaders who promote the elitist agenda. The elitists have one agenda --for world government-- promoted by both D & R office holders. Control of both D & R will allow the electorate to "throw the rascals out" when they get tired of the branch in control steering the nation toward one world government. I believe there are good people in American politics who are of the mind to restore us to a Constitutional Republic. I vote for men/ women in different parties all the time. They may call themselves Democrats, Republicans, Libertarian, Constitutionalist or Independant. The responsibility for electing "good" men and women to political office to reduce the size of government and restore constitutional values lies with the electorate -- us. We must inform ourselves about candidates' positions on various issues which have to do with expanding government and taxes to pay for it or reducing both. Ron Paul (R) TX-14 has his staff read a proposed house bill until they come across some aspect of the bill which is unconstitutional, they stop reading it, inform him and he votes against it. He believes he is sworn to uphold the Constitution. There may be other good men/women in the House & Senate who are like Ron Paul, I just haven't heard of them yet.
We are not, and do not want to be a pure democracy for in the course of human history, anarchy has always followed democracy. In a pure democracy there is no way to protect the rights of the minority and we should be aware that the majority would always trample the rights of the minority.
Each of us can study a few of our favorite issues and candidates on any particular ballot but not likely every issue and every candidate. Lets do that so we can cast an informed vote and trust that other concerned citizens with different "favorite" issues will do the same. If I blindly cast a vote for a candidate I may cancel you informed vote. I cannot cast an informed vote for every office--too many to study. I may trust someone else to be up on some other candidates and be able to cast an informed vote that way. Hopefully, enough concerned citizens casting informed votes will bring about the restoration of our Constitutional Republic.
Our hope lies not with either major party but with Congress. A Congress with a view toward upholding the Constitution and realizing that it states what the national government CANNOT do rather than what the citiziens can do.

Maybe if they were either viable, but you see both would help the socialists become stronger which I am adamantly opposed to.
I suggest the socialists keep the dem party and we start a new one called the moderate middle of the road party, and you know what, they would win every time.

I vote issue, not party. I have voted for 5 different parties in my lifetime, including Libertarian. No party is guaranteed my vote simply based on the meaningless letter after their name on the ballot.

Both are too conservative for me. If the Socialist Party were a valid third party, I would register as a Socialist.
