Both the dresser and the drawers are oak. There is no "track" per se. The drawer just rubs on the wood dresser. And there are no wheels or plastic or metal involved. How can I make it slide easier? Thanks!

Rub it with a candle, this tends to work!

Remove the drawer and lightly sand the grooves and rails on the bottom (where the drawer slides in and out). Apply a coat of silicone lubricant or paste wax and polish off the excess. If still tight, you may need to sand off more wood.

I was told when I moved into this house to get a candle and rub it on the drawer bottoms. This helped some but then I just got some sandpaper and rubbed on the bottom first and then used the wax and it helped them to slide easier. Depending on the dresser you may not want to use the sandpaper but the wax still works.

Sticky dresser drawers will slide easier if you rub candle wax or soap on the runner on the side of the drawers

An old time tested remedy is to take a bar of hand soap and turn the drawer upside down and rub the bar of soap on the bottom pieces that actually come into contact with the other wood and making sure to really apply pressure so that it leaves a layer of soap on the wood and your drawer should pull in and out easier.

Pull the drawers out as much as possible or completely out. Dust clean with dry brush or cloth. Sand down any rough spots. Brush clean again. Generously rub oil scented soap containing glycerin and or paraffin, on the surfaces that contact eachother. You will get better sliding drawers and a nice scent!
