Some people want their privacy, and besides too many cranks will want to write and curse.

I have my email address hidden as I suppose many people do - for me its because I already get more than enough spam and dont want any more - I also dont want hate emails if I happen to answer a question that the asker is not happy with the answer.

Why would you want to give your e-mail out to a bunch of strangers? People could spam you or sell the addresses to other companies who will spam you or they could send you a virus just cause they didn't like your answer. I mean anything could happen. It's just not safe. It's got nothing to do with them being unsure about their answers. It's for safety.

Most people only want to share opinions on this forum.
They still want their privacy on a personal level as there's alot of undesirable stuff freaky folks can do if they have your email contact.

I asked a similar question too. Most say they don't want the crazy people e mailing them.
I think it is because they want to give smartass answers with no way to hear a rebuttal.

Gosh, that's a good question. I'm building a database of emails myself for, uh, research. Yeah, research. NOT for selling to large companies to spam others with. That would be unethical. Just research, you bet.

Anyway, give me your address and I PROMISE I won't sell it.

Sincerely, me.

People are more likely to respond, when they are shown respect. Respect is shown by making an attempt at capitalization, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

I have my email listed, but for some it's like putting your phone number out there.....you have the chance of getting emails you really wish you didn't get....

Mine is there but hidden, so people can contact me if they want to (and frequently do).
