Its not red. Its the shade of colour that you were told as a child should be called red but in truth is slightly different for each person. So what you see isnt necessarily what I see. An dif you are a girl and you see rouge,I see red. If you see mauve I see red.
You ladies and your colours!
Im afraid men are on 4bit colour palette and you ladies clearly have a 32bit colour palette.hehe

All colours of the spectrum are invisible to the naked eye until something reflects them back to your eye, anything appearing red is simply reflecting the red part back but nothing else.
To some people however what you consider to be red may not appear red to them due to colour blindness

Because red things absorb light rays in such a way that all other colours of the spectrum are absorbed, except the red which is reflected to your eyes. There, now you know!

Well its like this!
Fire engines are always RED!
On a fire engine there are 8 men and 4 wheels,
Eight and four are twelve,
There are 12 inches on a ruler,
Queen Elizabeth was a ruler,
She sailed the seas,
There are fish in the sea,
The fish have fins,
The fins fought the russians,
The russians were referred to as reds
A fire engine is always rushin,
So it is always RED!...
Clear?

,cause if it was green it would be called green, anyway how do you know that what you see is the same as what others see. My Red could actually be blue and yours yellow but you've been calling it red all your life

It is the way that your brain interprets the signal from your eye after light photons reflect off a surface that absorbs everything except "red" photons.

Because it absorbs light at all the other wave lenghts and reflects the red light back. That gives it its colour.
