Sir Geoff Hurst scored only because of the fact the final whistle went for the tip of the time beyond regulation (30mins) that have been needed because of a prior due West German equaliser in everyday time. apparently he did not understand that the objective counted and concept it would had not long previous in earlier the whistle. Later on the respected international Cup Winners Presentation dinner social gathering he became congratulated on his hat trick and realised that his objective had counted!
