if it is corrupted, i just un-install it and then get the latest one...

as a COMPLETE LAST RESORT i would chat via the internet... but i have 4 IM programs (namely yahoo, google,msn and skype) so my chances of being cut off from the IM world are...well... QUARTERED

by sending messages through Y 360 , tagged , orkut ..if no messenger is working.
