for me i choose to not have a partner. i am gay but not part of the gay community, anymore. i have found it becoming very shallow and difficult to meet someone without having to go to a bar or gay.com. i also find its hard to find someone who dosnt have a drinking or drug problem these days.or a partner that isnt playing the field from personal experience too many gay boys are too busy thinking their gods gift to man and it seems that whats on the outside is more important. no thanks i will stay single

Its not a choice. Most gay people go through life wanting, desiring a partner, someone to be with, someone to talk to. Usually about a large amount of them will die from suicide because they can't stand being alone.

A lot of gay people usually aren't someone's type, or they might be too old for anyone's interest so they go through the rest of their life alone. If people choosed to be alone thats their choice, I have yet to find a gay man that wants to be alone. All of them I've spoken to want some way of spending their entire life with a man that will care for them and be there for them when they die.

What world are you living in? If its not safe to be anything but closeted, and you fear for your life, perhaps then you would want to be alone. But your question is nonsense for the rest of the world. People are pack animals, we seek out others for the most part. In any sexuality heterosexual or homosexuals some people simply prefer to be alone. I have a spinster aunt age 96, she's never had a relationship with anyone and choose to live that way. She's straight as a board.

My choice to be alone is because I have been hurt and used enough by people who have said they loved me, so now I am just coasting on through life. Maybe someday I will meet a nice and caring woman that I will settle down with, but not right now.

The fact that gays are called "third sex" and the world is dominated by heterosexuals create a gap that is even harder for these people to penetrate than life itself.
It is a choice to be gay but it's not a choice to be secluded in the society..

Where did you ever get that impression? I know very few gay folks that would rather be alone. If they don't want a partner-for what ever reason-they have their friends. I know several that would rather live alone and have a great relationship with another person who also lives alone but to be totally alone- very few.

I'm 57 and I have only had one 4 year period in my life where I lived alone...It's a choice...my 4 years was a recovery period from a relationship that went really wrong..

Where did you get that from??!!!

Most gay people would like to settle down, but in the US, the government, Republicans and Right Wing Christians make it impossible for gays to be happy in any form. In fact they discourage gays from being couples by virtue of their hateful laws, slurs and attacks.

Here in Canada, since gays can marry, you find more and more gays pairing up happily and living their lives openly, honestly and without any of the slurs. (except of course our own small yappy whiny Christian Fundies)

Note to Bogins, being gay is NOT a choice, smarten up.

Where do you people get these theories?? Most gay people don't want to be alone. We might be looking for the right one, but generally we don't want to be alone.
