Dear Chic
I once bought a make up product which was a solid base(foundation) in a compact. It came with an applicator sponge and was a total foundation.(It didn't need powder on top) The brand was Yardleys? or possibly Max Factor. Anyway I got what I wanted, all my freckles were gone, but I thought it looked weird ,I couldn't get used to the look and I stopped using it.
To reduce your freckles always wear SPF15 moisturiser(you should do this anyway to prevent sun wrinkles when you're older) personally I like to wear a brimmed hat / baseball cap on the beach to keep the glare of the sun off, and Piz Buin do a SPF25 face sunscreen which is Brown/Tan colour so you don't end up with a white face from sunscreen.
Best known freckled beauty on film: " Manon des source"
Best sayings "freckles are a sign of beauty"
"Angels kisses"( Angels watch over you while you're sleeping and kiss you goodnight)
Another way to cover them is stage make-up (pancake) see Leichner website.
Anyway, start with the SPF 15 moisturiser, many on sale Clarins my fave(is expensive) lots of less expensive ones out there though, and remember: not everyone gets kissed by Angels!

Hi I'm a Certified Beauty Adviser so I know what you mean. Most places will have a sample out and you should try it on the inside of your arm where your skin is the lightest. To cover freckles you first want to apply a concealer in a lighter shade than your foundation, then apply foundation and seal it with a light face powder. Good luck

You need to apply a concealor (to cover up the freckles) and then a foundation over the top. When purchasing foundation rub a small amount on your jaw line or the inside of your wrist, If it "dissapears" it is the perfect shade of foundation to match your skin, If your skin is pale start your search from the top end of the samples (usually starting with the color Ivory)
Good Luck :-)

Why would you want to cover up you freckles? They are who you are and that is the end of that. I have them and as far as I am concerned they are there to stay like the colour of your skin. Best solution is don't go out in the sun and then they will only be faint rather than sun soaked! I think you foundation situation however is a lost cause! Just be at peace with your self!

Foundation isn't designed to cover freckles. I'm afraid.
However, they do come in sheer, medium and full coverage, so if you're that intent on covering them, buy a foundation described as 'full coverage'. It may be too thick & heavy for your skin type though. If you're young, and you have blemish free skin, you shouldn't really be going for anything heavy as it looks so unnatural.
If the foundation looks orangey, it's too dark. I'm mega pale, and have to have the '01' shade of whichever foundation I buy.
Dior ivory 100 is pretty pale.

Oh my god, you sound just like me. I have red hair, pale skin, and soooooooooooooooooo many freckles. Anyway, I used to use a cream foundation and like you, when applied it looks pale then actually turns to a colour which I don't like, as my neck is so pale too, and that is using Translucent, I don't think you can get anything paler than that. (The colour I use is Serenity - Just Right).
Anyway, I started to use mineral powder, excellent coverage, for freckles, spots, blemishes, etc.
So have a look at the following website, they have a wide range of colours to chose from and they do sample pots for £1.75 each.
If you purchase, make sure you purchase a colour and the finishing powder.
Its really nice, honest.
Order today, and you should get it tomorrow or Saturday.

Go on, give it a go.

Some foundations can cover freckles. Try Laura Mercier silk cream foundation. They have a yellow base which is great for covering any redness also. You may want to try Mac. Studio Fix is good. But why do you want to cover them up? Freckles are great!

I think Max Factors foundation is good for coverage, but is quite a heavy make-up look. The Bare Minerals suggestion is a good one and it is much better for your skin - no chemicals or other nasties, and the coverage is outstanding. Doesn't feel like you're wearing any make-up and will probably be better for fairer skin. Maybe a highlighter will reflect light away from your freckles like it does with lines on your face?

Foundation doesn't always have to be a shade lighter than your skin you can always go for a shade darker so why not try a shade up and see of that helps cover your freckles. Make sure you blend it in well.

For pale skin the best thing i have found is a make-up base by Chanel.
Blanc Universel. It is a pale make up base that evens the skin tone.
I have used it in the past and had huge success with covering my freckles.
You can pick it up from all Chanel counters for £22
