There are so many different types of beads, can someone give me a list of the top countries (the best) that are known from manufacturing beads?

Your better beads generally come from Europe, such as your Swarovski Crystal, or your Czech glass. You can also get some nice handmade stuff here in the States. Beads from most other places are pretty good, too, just not as good. However, I've found that the absolute worst beads are made in India, so try to avoid them. They're usually very uneven, cracked, and have bead seperator still on them (that's the gray powdery stuff in the packages).

Depends what kind.
Bali is famous with their silver (REAL) beads.
Austria makes the Swarovki Crystal
Chez is famous with their hi quality glass beads.
Japan has Tensha beads.
China, nevertheless, try to make great Crystal and glass beads too!!!
